Obituary

The woman who never met a stranger, Carol Ann Rhodes Porter, of Delmar, DE passed away peacefully at her home on August 7th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on September 16th, 1958, in Seaford, DE and was raised in Laurel, DE where she graduated from Laurel High School in 1976. She later made her home in Delmar, DE.

She worked at Faw Casson in Salisbury, MD for 39 years. Most recently she worked at Trice Geary/UHY where she retired from this year.

She was a proud volunteer at the Delmar Little League and Parks and Recreation, where she spent many hours running the concession stands. She was happiest when she was with her grandchildren or at a Shorebirds game. She was sometimes happy watching the Orioles. Any friend of Carol's knew the beach was her happy place where she went as often as possible with her beach friends.

Carol is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles Porter, her daughter Stephanie (Robert), her son Chad (Melissa), her grandchildren Lauren (Jeff), Justin (Briley), Marley (Kyle), Cadyn and Callie, great grandchildren Dean and Haisley, her mother Catherine Rhodes, her sister Janet Rhodes, father-in-law Oscar L. "Sonny" Porter and dear friend Jody Reikard.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Rhodes, grandparents, Milton and Elizabeth Pope and Wilson and Kathryn Rhodes, and mother-in- law, Shirley Porter.

Carol will be remembered for the kindness she bestowed upon everyone she knew.
