Laurel – Carl F. Walker, 66, of Laurel, and formerly of Long Neck, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 14, 1954 in Pottstown, PA, a son of the late Benjamin and Mary Updegrove. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Lare and a brother, Robert Walker. Carl worked as a plumber for Harry Caswell Plumbing & Heating in Millsboro for over 20 years. He loved being around the water; boating, clamming, surf fishing and waterskiing were some favorite hobbies. He also enjoyed roller-skating, NASCAR and rooting for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles. He will be remembered as a wonderful cook who enjoyed canning, making stews and soups and was always up for a family cookout or party. He is survived by his children, Stacey Walker, Nancy James and husband, Joe, Carl Walker and Dave Walker; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, Benjamin Updegrove, Jr., Patricia Keough, Ralph Updegrove, William Updegrove and Mary Ann Updegrove; and several nieces and nephews. No formal services will be planned at this time. Carl's family would like to send a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Compassionate Care Hospice for the loving care they provided to him in his final days.
