Calvin S. Baker, 96, of Delmar, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 28, 1921 in Laurel, Delaware, a son of the late Ollie and Winnie Baker. Mr. Baker was a 1938 graduate of Laurel High School. After graduation, he served during World War II in the Army Air Corps with the 8th Air Force in England. He spent his career as an independent truck driver. He was a member of the Delmar Masonic Lodge #201 A.F. & A.M. and a life member of the Delmar VFW Post 8276. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Baker and his wife, Heather of Salisbury; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Baker; nieces, Jean Layton and Janice Landes; and nephews, Larry Brittingham and Howard Adkins, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma A. Baker; a son, Ronnie Baker; a brother, Reese Baker; and a sister, Lillie Brittingham. No formal services have been planned.
