Obituary

C. Bleatus Hudson, 83, of Delmar, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 26, 1937 in Frankford, a son of the late Fred E. and Pearl M. (Bunting) Hudson. Bleat, as he was known by many, proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 64 in Salisbury. Memberships also included St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar and the Delmar Fire Department where he was proudly an honorary member. He worked as a carpenter for Chris Craft, BelCraft, Feldman Brothers, and J. Rowland Dashiell before retiring from Deer's Head Hospital after many years of service. He loved bird watching, doing woodworking, and trips to Williamsburg, VA with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonita Dennis Hudson; a daughter, Lisa M. Riley of Delmar; a son, David E. Hudson of Delmar; grandchildren, Taylor A. Riley, Payge Hudson and Chase Hudson; a brother, Norris Hudson of Frederica; and sisters, Wilsie Donahue of Dagsboro and Angeline Timmons of Millsboro. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by a son, Aaron B. "Bull" Hudson; grandchildren, Wesley Riley, Jr., Christine Riley and Christopher Riley; brothers, Halton, Oerie and Dale Hudson; and sisters, Millie Jones and Fredonia Hudson. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar followed by funeral services which begin at 11:00. The Reverend Jim Hitch will officiate. Interment will be private.
