Bruno "Bud" W. Betro, age 87, of Hebron, and formerly of Baltimore, died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born in Baltimore on August 16, 1920, a son of the late Vincent and Lena LaDuca Betro. Bud, as he was known by family and friends, proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He worked for many years as a scheduler for Armco Steel in Baltimore. He was a member of the VFW for 63 years, where he held many positions and was a Past State Commander for the Department of Maryland VFW. Win or lose, he was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Orioles fan. He treasured spending time with family and loved holidays and family gatherings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carole Betro; a daughter, Theresa Kane and her husband, Larry of Baltimore; 2 sons, Richard Betro and his wife Linda of Baltimore and Wayne Betro and his wife Mary, of California; and a step-son, Steven Olsen and his wife Terry of Clewiston, Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00. Interment will be held following the services at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
