Obituary

Brian Christopher Minerva, 37, devoted husband, father and son of Salisbury lost his battle with kidney disease on Friday, November 12, 2021, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. He was born on May 25, 1984 in Sacramento, California. He was a 2003 graduate of James M. Bennett High School, where he played on the baseball team. Brian became a talented carpenter who worked in construction for Expert House Movers in Sharptown for many years. He could fix anything and loved having projects to accomplish. He and his wife Andrea were married on April 20, 2019, and have since welcomed their son, Benjamin. Spending time with family was such a special part of Brian's life. He was a lifelong, faithful Florida State, Washington Redskins and Nationals fan and was an avid golfer. Cooking and smoking meats were also something Brian was passionate about. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Lynn Minerva; son, Benjamin Calvin Minerva; mother, Anna Reili Taylor and husband, John Calvin Taylor, III of Salisbury; father, Michael J. Minerva, Jr. and wife Philippa of Washington D.C.; sister, Brittney Minerva Maloney and husband Jeremy of Salisbury; brother, Michael Manuel Minerva of Washington D.C.; niece, Minka Maloney; nephews, Mason Maloney and Evan Clark Barnes; grandfather, Michael J. Minerva, Sr. and wife Jo Anne Smith of Florida and John Calvin Taylor, Jr. and wife Patricia of Salisbury; grandmother, Karen Stanford and wife Dana Farmer of Florida; mother-in-law, Christine Ruffo and husband Tony of Salisbury; father-in-law, Tommy Evans and wife Debbie of Delaware; sister-in-law, Lauren Evans Barnes and husband Kevin of Mardela Springs; aunts, Elizabeth Anne Minerva of Wichita, Kansas and Heather Kovall and husband Dave of Maplewood, NJ; great uncle, Samuel Mills of Georgia; and his beloved cats, Frank and Blanche. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 6 to 8:00 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar and on Saturday, November 20th from 10 to 11 am at Wicomico Presbyterian Church, 129 Broad Street, Salisbury, MD 21801. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wicomico Presbyterian Church. Services will be livestreamed via the Facebook and YouTube channels of Wicomico Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Salisbury.
