Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brendin Brent Wessman (38) on May 2, 2024. Brendin was born on May 8, 1985, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Brendin is a loving husband, father and son. Brendin is a child of nature; he loves her many manifestations in flora, fauna, and topography. He often wandered and lost track of time outdoors. He saw nature as a friend of his and beautified gardens until they were masterpieces. From a young age he helped baby animals (rabbits, kittens, birds, snakes, raccoons and even a skunk) to be protected and grow. Brendin enjoyed fishing, spending time by the water, exploring wildlife, wooded hiking trails, and searching for burlwood for his projects. Brendin was a man of many talents - he had a knack for turning beautiful wood bowls out of tree burls and could fix just about anything. Brendin found satisfaction in watching things grow and flourish, whether it be in his carpentry work, tending to landscaping and gardening, or watching one of his many projects evolve into a beautiful piece of art. A talented cook, he delighted in cooking and preparing meals, particularly when it came to preparing the fish he caught. His baked rockfish and fish tacos became signature dishes that brought joy to those fortunate enough to indulge. He also had a deep-rooted love for music, particularly ragga jungle music. He was passionate about politics, engaging in conversations that reflected his deep emotion for his beliefs. Love of the outdoors is only exceeded by his love for his family. His three girls are the absolute center of his existence. Andrese, the love of his life since 8th grade; Kaleigh (10 marvelous years old); and little 1 year-old Brooklyn are the touchstones of his existence; he worked endlessly to create beautiful things for them, and to provide for their future. We are sure Brendin misses them more than anything else, and is watching over them even now. His family includes his loving wife, Andrese Foreman; beloved daughters, Kaleigh and Brooklyn Wessman; mother and stepfather, Sandra and Roger Merrill; father and stepmother, Brent and Rebecca Wessman; sister, Brooke Wessman (Cody Presnell); niece, Ava Presnell; and grandmother, Sally Erickson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ralph and Maureen Wessman, Darrell Jensen, and Charles Erickson. A private family celebration of Brendin's life and legacy will be held to honor the memories and stories that he leaves behind.
