Brenda "Bren" Jean Shrieves, 75, of Salisbury passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, after a short stay at Bay Harbor Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salisbury on October 15, 1949, Brenda was a daughter of Pat Banks of Salisbury and the late Betty Lee (Downs) Banks. She is remembered as a devoted wife of over 50 years to John Sewell Shrieves, Jr., a loving mother to her son, John "Jay" Sewell Shrieves III and his wife, Debbie, and daughter Tammy Lynn Applegate; a beloved grandmother to Kyle Shrieves, Kristi Johnson, Amber Palma, Aaron Applegate, Ronnie Gale and Lyndsey Ames; and a great grandmother to 12 wonderful great grandchildren. She was also a cherished sister to Pat Timmons, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Banks. Bren dedicated her career to caring for others as a Dietary Technician at Salisbury Nursing Home. Her compassion and kindness extended beyond her professional life, as she had a profound love for animals, particularly her cherished cat "Tubby." Bren also found joy in the simple pleasures of camping and creating lasting memories with her family and friends at Roaring Point Camp Ground. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 at Faith Baptist Church of Delmar, 1207 E State St, Delmar, MD 21875, where funeral services will begin at 11:00. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Bren will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
