Brenda Lee Rayfield, 58, of Salisbury, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born in Milford on February 12, 1953, a daughter of the late Edward and Evelyn Ada (Bell) Porches. Brenda was a faithful member of Salisbury Baptist Temple. She worked as a cook and a waitress for several years at the Railroad Café and Hebron Family Restaurant, however, her real passion was her 32 year career as a school bus driver for various contractors in Seaford and Delmar. She loved being a grandmother to her 6 grandchildren and treasured spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Robert Lee Rayfield, Jr.; 3 sons, William "Billy" T. Rementer and his wife, Sherri Webster, Andrew Michael Rementer and his wife, Rebecca and Burton L. Rementer and his wife, Dannaile, all of Delmar; 6 beloved grandchildren, Jessica Lynn, Courtney Danielle, Kyler Thomas, Kelsie Webster, Maddeline Emily and Aidan; a brother, Samuel Porches of Seaford; and 5 sisters, Dawn Lloyd of Fredericksburg, VA, Deborah Wisk of Dover, Charlene Hastings of Seaford, Mary Gibbs of Anchorage, Alaska and Denise Messick of Millsboro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Porches. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 11:00 to 1:00. Pastor Carlo Leto will officiate. Interment will follow at Blades Cemetery in Blades, Delaware.
