Obituary

Brenda H. Moore, 71, of Delmar, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury. She was born July 23, 1950, in Salisbury, a daughter of Reverend Jo Ann (Fields) Humler of Salisbury and the late Reverend Carroll R. Humler. Brenda graduated from Mardela High School. She loved her work as an underwriter for Avery Hall Insurance in Salisbury and retired after 35 years of service. She was a former member of Epworth Fellowship Church in Laurel where she was active in the choir and later served as the board secretary and choir director. More recently, she was an active member of Shiloh Community Church in Laurel. Brenda was a gifted and talented cake maker who loved making weddings and birthdays special with her cake designs. She also had a big place in her heart for animals and especially loved bird watching. She will be remembered best as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Clifford Russell Moore, who she married May 2, 1970; a daughter, Kathleen R. Foskey (David) of Delmar; son, Kevin R. Moore (Mary Kathryn) of Eden; grandchildren, Harrison R. Moore, and Caitlin R. Byers; a sister, Susan Smith of Salisbury; brother, John Humler (Pam) of Marion, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Roland Smith. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service, which begins at 1:00 p.m. Reverends Mark Erskine and Jim Hitch will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.shortfh.com.
