Obituary

Brenda J. Foskey, age 76, of Gumboro, Delaware, passed away at her home on Thursday, June 4, 2026, after a long and fulfilling life. Born on June 2, 1950, Brenda was a daughter of the late Jim and Jean Will. She was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many.

Nothing was more important to her as her family. Growing up, she attended Laurel schools. Brenda dedicated many years of her life to her career as a spinning operator at DuPont in Seaford, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Brenda found her greatest joy in her role as a mother to her daughter, Jody Davis and husband Virgil Davis, III, (her favorite son-in-law) and son, James Foskey. As a grandmother, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, Jessica Davis (Dennis Shipe), Virgil "Chop" Davis, IV (Crystal), Chase Foskey (Miranda), and Lauren Wilson (Corey), who brought immeasurable joy to her life. Then came the great grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye, Alyza, Kayden, Maddie, Mason, Dalton, Carlee, Kodi, Kayla, Jerry and Leigha. She is also survived by a sister, Rae Harmon (Joe); and a special family that she loved for many years, Lori, and her children, Reed, McKenna and Parker; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Will.

Brenda's heart extended beyond her family; she was actively involved in her community as a past president of the ladies auxiliary for the Delmar VFW Post 8276. She devoted countless hours supporting organizations that aided veterans and offered her unwavering friendship and love as a babysitter for family and friends alike. Her loyalty and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her. A dog lover at heart, Brenda's pets were treasured companions who shared in her vibrant spirit.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by funeral services which begin at 11:00. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. Following the interment, family and friends are invited to join the family for a time of food and fellowship from 1:00 pm to 3:30 at the Delmar VFW Post 8276, 200 W. State Street, Delmar, Maryland.

Brenda's warm smile, generous heart, and unwavering support will be profoundly missed but will live on in the memories of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
