Obituary

Bonnie Sue Cropper, 74, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 26, 1947, in Salisbury, a daughter of Betty (Cheezum) Klaverweiden and the late Jesse Klaverweiden. Bonnie grew up in Mardela Springs and went on to reside in Ocean City, where she worked at the Bank of Ocean City for many years. Through the years, she also worked as a beautician and most recently as an administrative assistant for Country Estates in Delmar. She enjoyed crafting and sewing and sewed the best Barbie doll clothes for her daughter when she was young. Most importantly she will be remembered as a Godly woman who loved to tell people about Jesus. She was a member of New Lyfe Church in Salisbury and previously a member of the First Baptist Church of Berlin. Bonnie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She is survived by her mother, Betty Klaverweiden of Salisbury; children, Kimberly Dodt (Gary) of Indiana, Stephen Cropper (Christine) of Salisbury, and Jason Cropper of Ocean City; siblings, Beverly Lowe (Edwin) of Salisbury, Bruce Klaverweiden (Nancy) of Kansas, and Brenda New (Chad) of Florida; grandchildren, Dennis "DJ" Stoner, Lauren Campbell (Brandon), Chad Michaels (Lynn), and Paige Phippin (Colby); great grandchildren, Cooper Hardy, Lucas Campbell, Corbin Campbell, Skyler Michaels, and Elijah Michaels; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Jesse Klaverweiden; she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Richard "Dickie" Cropper, Jr. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Athol Baptist Church Cemetery. In memory of Mrs. Cropper, contributions may be sent to New Lyfe Church, P.O. Box 1757, Salisbury, MD 21802, or Wicomico Nursing Home, 900 Booth Street, Salisbury, MD 21801 to benefit the activities department. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
