Obituary

Bonnie Jane Cordrey, 77, of Delmar, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 9, 1944 in Salisbury, a daughter of the late George William Dennis and Hilda Marie (Harrison) Dennis. Bonnie loved helping people and worked as a CNA at Salisbury Nursing Home for several years while also working as a private sitter for Mr. & Mrs. Judge Taylor, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Briel and Ms. Mabel Mills. She was known for her strong work ethic and loved her work at Kuhn's Jewelers and Walmart for over 21 years. She remained faithful in her daily walk with Jesus. Bonnie had a special place in her heart for animals and loved spending time at the beach, working in her flower garden and country line dancing. She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Cordrey, to whom she married March 21, 1969; children, Linda Kunowsky and husband Jim, Dana Webster and husband Donald and Shelly Wilkerson and fiancé Kevin Harmon, who was a special friend and great helper to Bonnie; grandchildren, Brandi Howser (Stuart), Chad Wilkerson (Danielle), Ashley Wilkerson, Tyler Wilkerson and Kayla Harmon; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Caiden, Kinsley and Hunter; beloved pets, Maggie, Lilly, Kit Kit, Samantha, Little Girl and Big Red; good friends, Jackie Purnell, Brenda Messick, Miss Ruth Cathell, Miss Diane Morris, Miss Juanita Payne, Lorraine Dickerson, Sherry and many more; her loving hair dresser, Andrea Bowen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Shirley Dennis Music, Phillip Dennis, Barbara Dennis McCraw and Donald Dennis; a beloved cousin Shelby Ennis; and pets, Coco, Rudy, Barron, Honz, Heidi, Missy, Gigi and many more. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service which begins at 11:00. Interment will follow at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke.
