Short Funeral Home Delmar Phone (302)846-2525 Fax (302)846-0720 Bobby O. Banks, age 76, of Delmar, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, Maryland. He was born July 10, 1930 in Pazwell, Virginia, a son of Maude Cyphers of Salisbury. He proudly served his country in the US Army in the late 1940's. Bobby is remembered as a man who knew the value of hard work who was a self-employed heavy equipment operator, a certified welder and owned his own woodworking business. Many people on Delmarva knew him as the owner of Pop's Firewood in Delmar. He loved his family, and was very devoted to his late wife, Ann. He is survived by 2 daughters, Lisa A. McCourry and Julie Banks; 3 sons, Carson McCourry, Roger Banks and Christopher Banks; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Dean , Julia, Jeannie, Benjamin, Maude, Marlena and Jackie; and 4 sisters, Corky, Shirley, Sandy and Patty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Ann Y. Banks, who passed in 2005. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. The Reverend Sam McWilliams will officiate.
