Billy Daniel Moore, Sr., 58, of Delmar, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012 at home after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Salisbury on March 7, 1953, the youngest of ten sons born to the late Charles and Mary Katherine Moore. Billy was a 36 year member of the Delmar Fire Department where he was a driver for over 19 years. He was also a member of the Delmar V.F.W. Post 8276. He enjoyed playing billiards in a local pool league. He worked over 20 years for Salisbury Brick Company. He is survived by his companion, Adeana Hopkins and their son, Danny Moore; Adeana's children, Joey and Ashley; a son, Billy D. Moore, Jr. and his wife, Lori, and their daughter, Madison; a daughter, Barbara "Nicole" Moore and and her daughter, Cassie; the mother of Billy, Jr. and Nicole and his ex-wife of 23 years of marriage, Bonnie Collins. He is also survived by several brothers, Charles "C.T." Moore, Phillip Moore, Ronnie Moore, Kenny Moore, Ricky Moore and Michael Moore; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Moore, Robert "Bobby" Moore and Jackie Moore. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
