Obituary

Beverly Jean Sullivan, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at the family home in Delmar. She was born on March 4, 1948, the daughter of the late Woodrow Franklin Moore and Jean (Maddox) Moore, and proudly spent her whole life in Delmar, where she graduated with the class of 1966 from Delmar High School. Beverly's heart forever belonged to her hometown, where on her parents' front porch she met her cherished husband, Frank. Their love blossomed into a beautiful marriage that lasted over 45 years until Frank's passing in 2014. Together, they raised a family rooted in love, support, and encouragement. While Beverly had a successful career in banking and retail, her most treasured role was that of a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an unwavering source of strength and inspiration for her children-Robin, Kelly, Scott, and Susan. Her legacy will live on through them and her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the kindness and compassion she instilled in them. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church in Delmar where she was a long-time integral part of the prayer shawl ministry, crocheting shawls and blankets for the sick and those in need. Beverly has also left her family with handmade afghans and blankets that they will treasure as they were made with love. She had a creative side to her and enjoyed diamond artwork and gardening. Her family will forever remember her whenever they see hydrangeas, her favorite flower. Beverly lived for family gatherings and especially loved Christmas, which brought those that she loved all together. She rarely missed an episode of The Young and the Restless and Big Brother, her favorite shows, and enjoyed iPad games as well. She is survived by her children, Robin Fenick and husband, Bill, Kelly Russell and husband Thad, Scott Sullivan and wife, Crystal and Susan Hall; grandchildren, Robert, Jonathan, Miranda, Gigi, Brian, Jordan, Dylan, Evan, and Ava; and great grandchildren, Aidan and Astro. Beverly is also survived by her brother, Wayne Moore and wife, Peggy; a sister-in-law, Linda Pusey and husband, Gerald; and 3 nieces and a nephew. Last but certainly not least, Bev is survived by her beloved Yorkie, "Woody," who was a vital member of her family. She will be deeply missed by family and friends alike, her warmth and love leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin "Frank" Sullivan; and a sister in law, Jane Sullivan, who passed in 2017. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation at Short Funeral Home on Saturday, August 9, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Beverly will be laid to rest alongside of Frank in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Pastor Paul James will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Beverly's memory to Coastal Hospice by visiting https://www.coastalhospice.org/make-a-donation/ or to St. Stephen's Church, 101 E. State Street, Delmar, DE 19940. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.shortfh.com.
