Bettie Ann Timmons, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 81 at Lofland Park Center in Seaford, Delaware. Born on July 5, 1944, in Cheriton, Virginia, she lived a life full of love and dedication to her family. She was the daughter of the late Roland Bennett and Carrie Oakley Bennett Dryden. As a proud homemaker, Bettie devoted her time raising and nurturing her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Dolly Bradley, Rolanda "Randi" Niblett (Maurice), Caroline "Carrie" Timmons (Christopher Mariner), Jo Anne Timmons (Chris Hastings) and Nioaka Marshall; sons, Walter "Buck" Timmons (Debbie), John Timmons (Choley), Quinton Timmons (Michelle) and James "Jimmy" Hamilton, III (Robin). She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and many, many great grandchildren. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Roland A. Timmons, Jr. While Bettie took pride in being a homemaker, in her younger years, she also worked for Allen's Poultry and the Long Neck Food Lion. Bettie had a passion for gardening, often utilizing her green thumb to create beautiful spaces that brought joy to those around her. She was also an avid fan of professional wrestling, sharing her enthusiasm for the sport with her family. Additionally, Bettie's love for puzzles showcased her sharp mind and her playful nature. Bettie's life will be celebrated with a memorial service to be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00.
