Betty Grace Stevens of Snow Hill passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, she was 95 years old. She was born on September 28, 1930, in Saxton, PA a daughter of the late Eloise Catherine Dick Lytle and Ernest Leroy Lytle.
She graduated from Kenwood High School in Baltimore, Maryland, class of 1948. She was married to her husband John Herbert Stevens for 64 years before his passing in 2012.She was employed by the C & P Telephone Company, Snow Hill MD Office until the phone company changed to the dial system and then worked at P.R.M.C. in the telecommunications department for 23 years. She was a member of the Bates Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Snow Hill Soroptimist Club; and the Nassawango Homemakers Club for 70 years. She also enjoyed meeting with The Survivors Club at McDonalds.
She loved her family, her Bates Church family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Lynn Smith (Carl), sons, Michael Arthur Stevens (Debra), and Bruce Herbert Stevens (Lorie); grandchildren, Todd Smullen (Jennifer), Scott Smullen (Vanessa), Stacy Smith (JR), John Stevens (Ashley), Matthew Stevens, Amanda Twilley (Aaron), and Daniel Stevens; great grandchildren, Mikaela Taylor (Alex), Gracie Perry (Josiah), Shyanne Smullen (Tyler), Sierra Smullen, Pearce Smullen, Adam Jones and Abigail Jones, Christopher Stevens, Samuel Stevens, and Alexander Stevens; great great grandchildren Oakley Shockley and Colton Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Herbert Stevens; her sisters, Ann Fitzgerald (John) and Laverne Laubach (John); and her brother, James Lytle (JoAnn).
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Bates Memorial United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bates Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bates Memorial United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
