Obituary

SALISBURY- Benjamin Alan Shores, 61, of Salisbury, went home to be with his Lord and Savior and to join those that have gone before him on Monday, April 4, 2016. He was born July 30, 1954 in Salisbury, a son of the late William Sigsbee Shores and Sadie Frances (Downs) Shores. Alan attended the Teen Adult Center in Salisbury for a few years in his younger days. He was a faithful member of Lighthouse Faith Holiness Church in Salisbury where he loved to sing and worship. He lived his life as the perfect example of how to follow Jesus. He was such a blessing to his family and friends and anyone who ever met him. He loved his family, his Lord, stuffed animals that played music and had a special fondness for babies. Alan also had an ear for music and loved to dance. He is survived by sisters, Mary Belle West of Nanticoke and Donna Shores Huntington of Salisbury; many loving nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Earl Huntington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara A. Shores Jones, Anna Rebecca Shores, Aileene Shores Lewis and Shirley Mae Shores; and a brother, William Shores, Jr. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
