IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Becky
Hastings
May 20, 1956 – January 16, 2026
Becky Hastings, 69, beloved Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 16, 2026. She entered this world on May 20, 1956 in Laurel, DE, born to Carlton and Mary Spicer.
Becky spent her whole life in Laurel and as a child she was crowned Fishing Rodeo Queen of Laurel. She graduated from Laurel High School with the class of '74. One of Becky's earliest jobs was managing the local arcade in Laurel called Silver Dollar & Coin Op, during the 80's. Becky eventually made her mark in the restaurant industry, where she worked for many years as a hospitality manager at Britt's Dutch Inn and Pizza King, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and patrons alike. Becky retired from Pizza King in 2019, cherishing the time she had to spend with her loved ones.
A woman of many passions, Becky was a skilled pinball player, a hobby she joyfully shared with her family. She loved to travel, especially to Lancaster and Amish Country, where she found joy in the simple things. She also enjoyed frequent trips to casinos and country music concerts, often in the company of her beloved family and friends. Becky was also a big Dale Earnhardt fan and loved watching football while cheering on her New Orleans Saints football team!
She is survived by her husband Ricky Hastings, who she married on October 27, 1973 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage; son Chad Hastings (Marianne); brother Carlton Spicer II (Susie); brother Rusty Spicer; sister Beverly Dickerson (Scott); brother Robbie Spicer (Stacie); granddaughter Jetta Hastings; grandson Dominic Cintorino; grandson Gavin Pangia; granddaughter Brianna Pangia; brother-in-law Gary Hastings (Shay); sisters-in-law, Joan Davis and Terri Hastings; and many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Susie Spicer and brothers-in-law, Sammy Davis and Lee Hastings.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a memorial service to honor Becky at 2:00 pm.
