Beatrice Hearn Zarella, 100, of Delmar, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 7, 1912 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Walter and Maude Elliott. Mrs. Zarella attended St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. She worked as a governess for Girard College. She is survived by three sons, Marion L. Hearn (Marilyn) of Florida, George Hearn (Marjorie) of Laurel, and Paul Hearn (Inga) of Augusta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Wayne Hearn (Donna) of Florida, Scott Hearn (Debbie) of Seaford and Lisa Adams (Glen) of Delmar; eight great grandchildren, Anita, Jennifer, Kip, Sara, Josh, Joyce, Dawn and Lauren; a sister, Phyllis Parker of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Hearn and her second husband, Emil Zarella; a granddaughter, Lynn Wessels; two sisters, Elizabeth White and Ada Snyder; and a brother, William L. Elliott. In memory of Mrs. Zarella, contributions may be sent to St. Stephen's U.M. Church, 101 E. State Street, Delmar, DE 19940. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Cemetery Park in Delmar. The Reverend Phyllis Walton will officiate.
