Obituary

Barbara A. Shores Jones of Mardela Springs,born April 25, 1933 went home to meet her Savior and reunite with her beloved husband on Saturday, June 13, 2009. Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late William Sigsbee and Sadie Frances Downes Shores, and devoted wife to the late Leonard "Bip" Jones. She was co-founder of Faith Pentecostal Mission on Maple Way in Salisbury where she served as Sunday School teacher and pastor for 32 years. She was a licensed minister with Church of God House of Prayer in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania and secretary and board member of Salisbury Outreach Services. She leaves to mourn her passing; six children, Shari Tracy and her husband, Spencer, Leonard M. Jones, Jr. and his companion Terry Crocker, Dana Andrews and her husband, Mike, Robin Carew and her husband, Scott, Angela Robinson and her husband, Chuck, Dina Jones, and her special foster daughter, Brenda Hearn. Also surviving her are 17 grandchildren; Kim Ellison, Danielle Fontanez, Spencer Lee Tracy, Jr., Michael Jones, Leonard M. Jones, III, Erin White, Jennifer Donophan, Jessica Weldon, Stephen McCauley, Justin McCauley, Caitlyn McCauley, Dylan Carew, Christian Carew, Madison Carew, Cory Robinson, Cody Robinson and Tyler Jones, 18 great grandchildren, Kara Tracy, Marissa Ellison, McKenna Ellison, Derek Fontanez, Hannah Fontanez, Alex Miguel Fontanez, Raven Horton, Camryn Tracy, Hayley Jones, Breanna Jones, Bethany Jones, Jourdin White, Ashlyn White, Autumn White, Brendan Weldon, Alyssa Weldon, Joshua Donophan, and Juliana Donophan; three sisters, MaryBelle West, Shirley Shores and Donna Huntington; two brothers, William Shores, Jr. and Alan Shores; numerous nieces and nephews, and a sister-in-law, Doris Gravenor. She is also survived and missed by her Pomerian, "Bear." In addition to her parents and her husband, her two sisters, Anna Rebecca Shores and Aileen Lewis preceded her in death. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home, 13 East Grove Street in Delmar. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service in Hebron Cemetery. The Reverend Jacob Wengerd will officiate.
