SNOW HILL- Barbara Lois Kurtz, 88, of Snow Hill, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 30, 1926 in Spring City, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Allen H. Good and Hannah Gross Good. Barbara was a long time, faithful member of Snow Hill Mennonite Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to raising her family. She enjoyed gardening and had a true heart for outreach to the community. She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, John C. Kurtz; seven children, Mary Hostetler and Maynard of Snow Hill, John Allen Kurtz and Nelsia of Girdletree, James Kurtz and Christina of Snow Hill, Daniel Kurtz and Patti of Parsonsburg, Sara Allaei and Manochehr of Indianapolis, Sharon Lonsdale and Christopher of Public Landing and Stephen Kim of Dover; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brothers, Claude Good and Ernest Good; and a sister, Pauline Good. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Angelina Kurtz and Lucinda Kurtz; 3 brothers, Webster Good, James Good and Lawrence Good; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Horst and Catherine Kurtz. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Snow Hill Mennonite Church and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 at the church, followed by a funeral service which begins at 11:00 a.m. Nathan Hostetler, James Kurtz and Maynard Hostetler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery.
