He was 74 years old. Vaughn's faith in God gave him peace and strength as he endured many health struggles through last few years. Born on October 18, 1950, in Millsboro, Delaware, he was the son of the late Leon and Sarah Davis Wilkerson. Vaughn lived a life filled with purpose, laughter, and a profound love for those around him. Vaughn proudly graduated from James H. Grove High School before furthering his education at Delaware Technical Community College, where he earned his diesel mechanic certification. His career at Allied Waste spanned several decades, during which he earned a reputation as a talented and dependable mechanic. His ability to fix anything with a mechanical heart made him a cherished member of the team and a friend to many. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vaughn was a passionate fan of sports. He dedicated countless hours as a loyal supporter of the New York Yankees and found great joy in cheering for both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. in the world of NASCAR. Vaughn's love for entertainment extended to the excitement of WWE wrestling, a passion he shared with friends and family alike, creating joyful memories around his favorite matches. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially "Willow" and "Lokie," his favorite cats. Vaughn was not just a man of skills and interests; he was also someone who appreciated the simple pleasures of life. He loved traveling to flea markets, yard sales, and auctions, and he didn't shy away from the thrill of scrapping. His adventurous spirit and easygoing nature touched the lives of everyone he met. Vaughn is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Mary Wilkerson; children, Tammy Chieffo (Henry), Sara Wilkerson, Ashley Wilkerson (Jeff), and Travis Lee Wilkerson (Sarah); beloved grandchildren, Makayla, Aiden, Layla, Jessalyn, Peyton, Travis, Jr., Creek, Mackenzie, Kade, Levi, Avery, Jessica and Michael, Jr.; and 7 great grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of love and laughter.
