Arthur Fisher Johnson, 84, of Salisbury, died at his home on Monday, August 24, 2015 after a long illness. His late parents were Blanche Fisher and Arthur Julius Johnson. He was born in Ohio and, at the age of nine, moved to northern Delaware with his family. He graduated from Newark High School and attended one year at the University of Delaware when he was called into the Korean Conflict for two years, then returning to the University of Delaware and graduated in 1955. He moved to Salisbury in 1960 to go to work for Mr. Arthur Perdue and his son, Frank, leaving after 29 years. He bought a home in Florida and stayed there for 25 years. He loved traveling and went to 49 states, except Hawaii. Besides traveling, he liked to garden and play cards. He belonged to several organizations and held office in all of them. He was a member of Jerusalem Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Coastal Hospice, especially Cathy and Lisa for the care over the past two months. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Murray Johnson; four children, Deborah Perkins, Arthur Julius Johnson II, Tami Cross, and Sarah Johnson; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great grandsons.
