Arline H. Marvil, age 90, of Delmar, passed away Monday, March 26, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born, October 20, 1916 in Delmar, Maryland, the daughter of the late Arlie and Ethel Davis Hudson. Mrs. Marvil was a 1937 graduate of Western Maryland College, where she was active in her sorority "Phi Alpha Mu" and also served as a "sponsor" for a fraternity. She retired from Delmar High School after teaching many years of French and English. She enjoyed her home very much, and was proud to be able to live an independent and active life. She loved the flowers outside her home, as well as watching the birds and squirrels in her yard. Mrs. Marvil was a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Delmar. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son in law, Nola and Joe Arnold of Salisbury, Maryland, as well as, several cousins and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Burns Marvil. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
