Annie G. Figgs, 98, of Delmar, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury. She was born in Scotland on June 15, 1913 to the late Robert and Susan Grant. Mrs. Figgs was a member of Melson's United Methodist Church in Delmar and the Adah Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Star in Delmar. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lacey and Joyce Figgs of Delmar; a son-in-law, Alfred Matthews of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Donald Figgs and his wife Andrea, Kimberly Figgs, Russell Matthews and Anthony Matthews; a great grandson, Justin Figgs and his wife Angie; two great great grandchildren, Nevaeh Holcomb and Noah Figgs; a sister-in-law, Ruth Burton of Delmar; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lacey K. Figgs; a daughter, Dorothy Ann Matthews; and two brothers and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Melson's Cemetery in Delmar. The Reverend Everett Isaacs will officiate.
