Anne M. Bennett, 80 of Delmar, MD and North Port, FL passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Tidal Health in Salisbury. Born April 11, 1943 in Hebron, MD she was the daughter of the late Earl and Frances (Howard) Messick. Anne graduated from Mardela High School, class of 1961. She then went to Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE and received her AA degree. After graduation she began work at Dresser Wayne in Salisbury. In 1966 she took a leap of faith and began working as a flight attendant with American Airlines and worked with them for 38 years until her retirement. During her career she was able to travel and see the world and fulfill a lifelong dream. She loved her work and the many friends she made along the journey. She loved to share stories from her airline career with family & friends. In 1994 she married Randy Bennett and they enjoyed many years together living in Delmar, MD and in North Port, FL during the winter months. Anne loved her family and was thankful for the life God gave her. Survivors include her husband, Randy, step-daughter, Suzanne Taylor and step-son, Randy Bennett, Jr., two grandchildren, Morgan and Cain Taylor, great granddaughter, Lucy Mae and two nieces, Kay Riall and Joan Murphy. Her parents and her sister, Kathleen M. Adkins predeceased her. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd at Short Funeral Home, Delmar. Visitation will be from 10 – 11am prior to the service at 11. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery, Salisbury. Pastor Charles Fiore of Nelsons Memorial Church in Hebron will be officiating.
