Obituary

Ann Ring, 82, of Delmar, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. She was born October 24, 1931 in Delmar, a daughter of the late Howard V. Nichols and Mildred Johnson Nichols. Ann graduated from Delmar High, and spent her whole life in Delmar. She began her career at The Bank of Delmar and retired from there as an officer in the loan department. She was an active, life member of First Baptist Church of Delmar, where she served as the organist for over 50 years and had the honor of being a member longer than any living congregant. Her church and her family were the center of her life. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and dining out with her husband, Richard. She also enjoyed spending winters in Ft. Myers, Florida with Richard.Ann is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Richard A. Ring; 3 children, Linda Seefried (Luke) of Clayton, NC, Reverend Robert Ring of Pittsford, NY and Beth Kimmey (Eric) of New Windsor, MD; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Parker (Donald), Angie Leonard (William), Kaity Koslosky (Matthew) and Julie Baran; a great grandson, Drake Parker; a brother, Fred Nichols (Joyce) of Seaford; and a sister-in-law, Nellie Ann Nichols of Delmar. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard "Dickie" Nichols and Howard Nichols. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. Pastor James Riddle will officiate. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Susan G. Komen For the Cure, P.O.
