Andrew Martin Carmine Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on January 20, 1948, in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Andrew M. Carmine, Sr. and Frances Louise Carmine.
Andy, also affectionately known as "Otis" and "Pops" by family and friends, dedicated his life to serving his community and providing for his family. In the 1970s and 1980s, he served as an auxiliary deputy sheriff for Wicomico County, where he was respected for his commitment to public service. Throughout his career, Andy worked tirelessly as a truck driver in various industries, including poultry, gas, and propane. He later became a heavy equipment salesman at Tri-Supply and most recently served as a delivery driver for Chesapeake Healthcare. A man of deep faith and community involvement, Andy attended Zion Church of Salisbury, where he served on the trustees committee and was head usher. Andy enjoyed many sports. Playing softball until the age of 65. He enjoyed golf and bowling. His favorite teams were the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Redskins.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Carmine; his son, J.W. Carmine (Jennifer); his daughter, Kim Carmine; and his cherished grandchildren: Tiffany Adams (David), Ashley Bennett (John), Josh Machado (Santana), and Rachel Howell (Nick). He also leaves behind a legacy of love through his great-grandchildren: Ellaina, Lucie, Waylon, and Dawson Adams, and Nova, Cyress, and Jaziel Machado. He will be missed by his special extended family, Joe Harbinson, Russell Holland, Rick Ward, Doug Carey, Russell LeCates, Trisha Greene, Debbie Hicks, Rudy Hicks, and Lora Parker. He is also survived by his in-laws, Herbert and Betsy Lowe.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Zion Church of Salisbury with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions can be made to Zion Church of Salisbury, 31104 Zion Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
