Andrea "Andi" Marie Hovatter, 41, of Laurel, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born on October 11, 1978 in Cambridge, Maryland, a daughter to Donald and Lynn Derickson of Hebron. Andi graduated from Mardela High School with her class in 1996, and continued her education by graduating from the Beebe School of Nursing in 2003, as a Registered Nurse. The training, knowledge, and experience led her to a position of ER nurse at both Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Atlantic General Hospital. Her most recent employment was that of a Home Health Nurse stationed in Georgetown. She loved spending time with family and friends the most though. She was always fun to be with and could always find a way to make you laugh or at least smile. She had a wonderful sense of adventure and enjoyed traveling with her family to Tennessee, spending her leisure to camping, kayaking, rafting, fishing, and trips to a local beach. She just thoroughly enjoyed family time doing whatever. Most importantly though, she loved being the mom to her boys, Braeden and Nathaniel. (B & Nate) They were her universe! In addition to her parents, she is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 15 years, Kevin Hovatter; sons, Braeden and Nathaniel Hovatter; a sister, Heather Derickson-Clary; nephews, Tyler and Ryan Moore, and Skyler Derickson-Davis; and one of her many beloved friends, Karen Taylor. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Central Worship Center, 14545 Sycamore Road, Laurel. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to this service. Pastor Tim Dukes will officiate. In memory of Andi, contributions may be sent to her sons, Braeden and Nathaniel Hovatter, through the Hebron Savings Bank. Services are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
