In Loving Memory of Amy Lynn Melloy

Amy Lynn Melloy, 42, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, surrounded by the love that meant so much to her throughout her life.

Amy was born on April 30, 1984, in Long Beach, California, and grew up in Laurel, Delaware, which she always considered home. She spent the past 15 years living in Pennsylvania before returning home to Delaware for the last two years of her life.

Amy was a one-of-a-kind person whose presence could never go unnoticed. She was loving, caring, compassionate, hardworking, and absolutely hilarious. She had a smile that could light up an entire room, and she had a way of making people feel comfortable, loved, and accepted simply by being herself. She was never judgmental and had an incredible ability to give advice, listen without judgment, and love people wholeheartedly.

Amy loved spending time with the people she cared about most. She enjoyed shooting pool, hiking, building Legos, and most of all, socializing and bringing people together. She loved family gatherings, get-togethers, laughter, and making memories. Her family, friends, and her beloved fur babies were some of the greatest loves of her life.

Amy was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, no matter what they needed. She gave so freely of herself and never hesitated to show up for the people she loved. She was extremely compassionate and had a heart that made room for everyone.

One of Amy’s proudest accomplishments was becoming a manager at her workplace, a reflection of her dedication, determination, and strong work ethic. But perhaps her greatest impact wasn’t something that could be listed on a résumé. It was the way she made people feel. She made people laugh. She gave great advice. She loved deeply. And she had a gift for making ordinary moments unforgettable.

Amy was always a kid at heart and had an adventurous spirit that sometimes got her into a little trouble. Her family will forever remember the stories and memories that made them laugh, including the time she and her sister decided to play hooky while the family was at Dover Downs—only for the school to call looking for them. Those are the moments that will continue to bring smiles and laughter long after the tears have passed.

And, of course, no memory of Amy would be complete without hearing her signature: “WHATSSSS UPPPPP!”, a phrase that could instantly make everyone laugh and was unmistakably Amy.

Amy’s memory will forever be cherished by her mother, Paula Walls, and stepfather, Mark Walls; her father, Mark Melloy, and stepmother, Audie Melloy; her spouse, Jessica Johns; and her stepdaughter, Avery Fox and family.

She is also survived by her siblings and their families: Martin Torbert and sister-in-law Navonne Torbert; Shanna Taylor; Ryan Walls and fiancé Brittany Reed, Mark Melloy II ; Chris Walls and sister-in-law Marcy Walls; niece Logan Reed and her husband Trent Reed; niece Marissa Marvel and her husband Hunter Marvel; nephews Tate Walls, Beck Walls, Braxton Reed, Blake Johnson, Liam Taylor, and Dillon Adams and his wife Jessica Adams; great-nephew Rhett Reed; great-niece Nora Adams; and soon-to-be great-niece Blair Adams.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her Grandmother Gloria Ashby, Aunt JoJo Heidel and her husband Bruce Heidel; Cousin Leslie Preston and family; Cousin Justin Powell; Cousin Traci Bryant and family; Cousin David Smith and family; and Uncle Billy Ashby and family, along with many other extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.

Amy meant the world to her family and to the many friends whose lives she touched. Her absence will leave a space that cannot be filled. They will miss her beautiful smile, her laughter, her jokes, her advice, her loving heart, her caring nature, and simply having her presence in the room.

Although Amy is no longer here in person, the love she gave, the laughter she created, and the memories she left behind will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She taught those around her to love without judgment, to care deeply, to laugh often, and to never take life too seriously. She will forever be remembered as someone who walked into a room and made it brighter just by being there.

A private celebration of Amy’s life will be held with close family.
