Alton W Russo, 90, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born on January 18, 1924 in Dagsboro, a son of the late Joseph Russo and Mary Hickman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Radie Russo in December 2012, and also a daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Yvonne Mariner and her husband William of Salisbury; a granddaughter, Stacey Roberts and her husband Joe of Mechanicsville MD; a grandson, Robert Lewis and his wife Cyndi of Bloomington, Indiana; five great grandchildren Cheyenne, Savanna ,and Portlynn, of Mechanicsville Maryland and Michelle and RJ of Indiana; and several close friends, Joe and Bridy, William Shockley, Mini Parker, Mr. Sears and Mr Jarvis. Alton loved his family and friends and loved to talk about old times. Mr. Russo worked on many chicken farms and then retired from Perdue Farms in 1986. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ed Townsend will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Carey's Cemetery in Millsboro. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
