DELMAR- Alton "Dutch" Ralph Brubaker, Jr., 88, also known as "Sonny" by his immediate family, passed away on January 19, 2017 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne. He was born June 14, 1928 in Denton, a son of the late Alton Ralph Brubaker, Sr. and Mary Schreiber Brubaker. He was a lifelong truck driver for many local companies including Victor Lynn, Hess, Crown Cork and Seal, Tri-County Gas and retired from Mountaire Farms. He was also an avid competitive skeet and trap shooter and past president of the Salisbury Gun Club. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting with his son and friends in Pocomoke, watching Oriole's baseball and NASCAR, especially #24. He was a very kind, helpful and good friend and never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Satchell Brubaker, sharing 53 years of marriage; children Gwen Brubaker Shedaker (husband, Phil), of Laurel, David Downing (wife, Phyllis) of Laurel, Donna Thomas (husband, Larry) of Princess Anne and Debbie Culver (husband, Rick) of Felton; grandchildren, Missy, Aaron, Julie, Christina, Andy, Katie, Tami, Bobby, Leigh, Amber. Matthew and Lance; and great grandchildren, Payton, Olivia, Gunnar, Parker, Alex, JD, Jeremy, Brianna, Wyatt, Riley, Lilliana, Emma, Skylar, Kherington, London, Karyn and Trent. He is also survived by a niece, Maryann Palmer and a nephew, Mike Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor Richards and Kathleen Porter; and a son, William Dale Brubaker.
