Obituary

Alma Louise Gullette, 78, of Laurel, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at Delmar Villas Assisted Living, where she had resided for the past several years. She was born on September 10, 1943, in Salisbury, Maryland, a daughter of the late Naomi (Cheezum) Gambrill and Jack Gambrill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, King L. "Jr." Gullette. Alma graduated with the Mardela High School class of '63. She enjoyed a rewarding, 35 year career as a set-up operator at AirPax Corporation in Cambridge. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Seaford for 40 years. For most of those 40 years her passion was working in the nursery but she gladly helped in any other areas where she was needed. She was currently a member of First Baptist Church of Delmar. She enjoyed working in her garden, especially picking strawberries. She is survived by a sister, Wanda Shores (Bob) of Salisbury; brothers, Edward Gambrill (Mary Faye) of Louisiana and Tommy Gambrill of Delmar; a niece, Christal Marshall; a nephew, Robbie Shores; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her step-daughter, Laura Beth Karch (Brian) of Cambridge. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Her brother-in-law, Bob Shores, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church of Delmar, "Missions," P.O. Box 200, Delmar, DE 19940 or Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
