Allen R. Hawk, 64, of Seaford, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at his home in Seaford. He was born March 12, 1951 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a son of Robert Clifford Hawk of Seaford and the late Margaret Campbell Hawk. Allen worked many years for the Film Corporation of America in Pennsylvania before moving to Delaware where he worked as a small engine mechanic for Mid-Way Services in Lewes. He was excellent working with his hands and could not only repair small engines but was always tinkering with electronics and very skilled at fixing radios. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing was a favorite past time. He had a true passion for music and was a wonderful organ and keyboard player and was recently learning to play the guitar. He enjoyed listening to talking books for the blind and loved old time radio shows. In addition to his father, he is survived by a sister, Diane Cohenford and her husband, Mike of West Warwick, Rhode Island; his twin brother, Robert Hawk, Jr. of Philadelphia; nephews; Jason and Scott Cohenford; a niece, Megan Cohenford; a cousin, Mercedes Thomas; a close friend, Jon Casto of Seaford, who he considered a brother; and his long time caretaker and friend, Yvonne. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Hawk. Mr. Hawk's family would like to express their appreciation for the kind and compassionate care that was given to him through the past few years by the staff at the DSI Renal Center in Seaford. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E Grove Street, Delmar.
