Alice Faye Fisher, 69, of Hurlock, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was born in Eldorado, Maryland on January 30, 1940, a daughter of the late Earl W. and Pauline Milligan Cole. She loved her work as executive secretary to the Director of Nursing at Eastern Shore Hospital Center in Cambridge, a career that lasted over 30 years. She she an advocate for nurses everywhere. She loved gardening and everyone that knew her will remember her affection for cats. She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Cambridge. She had a very infectious laugh and always loved making others laugh as well. She also loved gardening. She is survived by her belove d daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" L. Burton of Baltimore; three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Jarrod of Virginia Beach, VA, Bonnie Fisher of Bethesda, MD and Sally Lockler of Canton, GA; a special friend, who was like a daughter to her, Lois Heflin of E. New Market, MD; two sisters, Margaret Faulkner and Helen Reier, both of Easton, MD; four grandchildren, Stacey Lockler of Canton, GA, Erin Fisher of Bethesda, MD, Jamie Mastronardi of Hagerstown, MD and Staff Sgt. John Mastronardi, U.S, Army, stationed in Germany; two great grandchildren, Garett Mastronardi and Skyla Mastronardi, both of Hagerstown, MD. She is also survived by nephews, Robbie Faulkner, Wesley Sard and Tommy Sard, all of Easton, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Fisher, who passed in 1991, and a stepdaughter, Nancy Mastronardi Tucker. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, DE, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Reverend Fred Bahr will officiate. Interment will follow the service at East New Market Cemetery.
