Aleathia Ellen Spencer, 59, of Delmar, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019 at PRMC in Salisbury. Ellen was born on August 15, 1959 in Salisbury, Maryland. She worked for the Bank of Delmarva, retiring after 30 years, serving at various times as a loan officer, vice president, and IT specialist.   She enjoyed listening to country music and growing flowers in her garden. She is survived by her husband, Lacey E. Spencer, Jr.; step-sons, Lacey Spencer, III (Donna) and Lance Spencer (Phyllis);  8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Adams; and a sister, Marie Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Adams and Agnes Adams Fleetwood. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar.  A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
