DELMAR- Albertus Jacobus Petrus Bleeker, 64, of Delmar, and formerly of Hebron, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019. He was born in Alkmaar in the Netherlands, a son of the late Jacobus Bleeker and Josina Van Honschoten Bleeker. At an early age Al and his family came to the U.S. He was raised in Langhorne, Pennsylvania and graduated from Neshaminy High School. After high school, he started working as a carpenter for his father's company, Bleeker Construction. He loved working with his hands, could build almost anything, and quickly earned the title of master carpenter. Al felt at home around the water and enjoyed sailing and boating in his free time. He enjoyed martial arts and watching NCIS, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and other cooking shows. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, mild manner, and sweet spirit. He is survived by his daughter, Adrianne Nichol Bleeker; his companion of many years, Brandy Wheatley; a sister, Margaret Bleeker Scanlan and her husband (Rob); a brother, Hans Bleeker and his wife (Ute); and very good friends who were like family, Trevor, Shane and Wayne Howard. He is also survived by a nephew, several nieces, and a large family back home in the Netherlands. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
