Obituary

Albert Edward Parkin, 72, of Hebron, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 surrounded by his family at Mallard Bay in Cambridge. He was born on February 24, 1942 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Albert and Lillian Parkin. Albert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Standard Register in 2004, after 26 years of service. He loved traveling, hunting, and fishing. Family was the most important part of his life, and he will be greatly missed by them. He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Linda S. Parkin; three sons, Kirk Parkin, Kent Parkin, and Kevin Parkin (Lauren) ; two daughters, Christina Thompson (Robert), and Leah Fisher (Lee); grandchildren, Ryan, Shaun, Heather, Zachary, Eliza, Asher, Zuri, Tyler, Shaina, Malina, and Gavin; a great grandchild, Addison; a brother, Donald Cooper (Betty); a sister, Marilyn Culver (Donald); and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jim Riley will officiate. In memory of Mr. Parkin, contributions may be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
