SNOW HILL- Albert "Bert" N. Ardis, Jr. 68, of Snow Hill, died Monday, September 18, 2017 at his home in Snow Hill. He was born January 23, 1949 in Salisbury, a son of the late Albert N. Ardis, Sr. and Kathleen McRoberts Ardis. Bert graduated from Snow Hill High School with the Class of 1967, then graduated from Lynchburg University with a B.A. in History. After college he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. In his younger days, he attended Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. Bert moved to the Charleston, S.C. area and he enjoyed his work as a tour guide for Old Town Carriage Rides, a career that spanned over 20 years. He will be remembered as an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. He is survived by a sister, Phyllis Ardis Lank; a brother, Steven J. Ardis, both of Snow Hill; an aunt, Dot Dukes of Girdletree; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog, "Buddy." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Wayne Ardis; a brother-in-law, Gale Lank; and a niece, Gwynn Bonnaville. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
