Obituary

SEAFORD- William A. Wennberg, 72, of Seaford, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 12, 1943 in New York, a son of the late John William Wennberg and Gladys May (Griffin) Hornback. Bill proudly served his country in the US Army from 1964 to 1966. He retired from the City of Seaford where he worked in wastewater management for 29 years. He was a deacon and founding member of Shore Christian Center in Wall Township New Jersey and a founding member, and part of the leadership team, of Harvest Christian Church in Seaford. Throughout his church career, he was involved in various ministries to include a jail outreach, small group leader and weekly greeter. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances Kay Wennberg; three children, Kimberly Beth Strohmaier of Locust Grove, Virginia, William Christian Wennberg and his wife, Ana of Wilmington and Evan Allan Wennberg and his wife, Erin of Easton; eleven grandchildren, Dylan Hudson, Garrett, Matt and Eden Strohmaier, William Jr., Mary and Sophia Wennberg, Riley Vande Kappelle, Ever, Elise and Emmett Wennberg; two brothers, Ken Hornback and Ron Sauer; and a sister, Darlene Masco. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Harvest Christian Church in Seaford. Pastor Tom Birowski will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Harvest Christian Church, 8697 Ockels Rd, Seaford, DE 19973. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
