Reverend Paul E. Klaverweiden,Sr., 80, entered into eternal rest peacefully and into the loving arms of his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, February 19, 2021. Paul spent nearly 50 years in the service of his Savior where innumerable people came to know the Lord and His saving grace through his ministry. Some of Paul’s final words were that he was “just a sinner, still under construction, and saved by the merciful, grace of a loving God.” Paul was one of ten children, born to the late James and Elsie Klaverweiden. He is survived by his daughter Tammy (Don) Moore; son, Rev. Dr. Paul Klaverweiden, Jr., both of Salisbury. His two other sons, Randy in 2013 and Robert in 2020 predeceased him. His wife and the “love of his life” since 1958, Joyce, died in 2012. “Pop,” as he was affectionately called, will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Tony (Cindy) Moore, Richard (Kim) Smith, Minda (Angel) DeJesus, Candice Moore, and Robert Klaverweiden, Jr., as well as, twelve great-grandsons. He also considered Holly Smith, Kenny Lansberry and Kevin Fairbank his “bonus” grandchildren, as well as extended family, Thelma, Haleigh, and Grant Ardis. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Delmarva Evangelistic Church in Salisbury. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Buzz Gregory, Rev. Dr. Paul Klaverweiden, Jr., and Minister Mattie Greene will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Due to current gathering restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required during the visitation and service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be gifted to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
