Anthony “Tony” Phillip Triglia, 72, of Delmar, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury. He was born October 24, 1949 in Salisbury, a son of the late Joseph S. Triglia, Sr. and Mary Antoinette Bellomo Triglia. Tony graduated from Delmar High school with the class of 1968. He furthered his education at Del Tech and Wor-Wic Community College before serving his country in the Delaware National Guard for several years. In his younger years, he got his start in business working in retail before joining the family business, Triglia Transportation Co. Inc in Delmar. He was co-owner of Trigila Transportation and operated the business alongside of his family. His church, his family and the Delmar community was Tony’s passion. Tony was a lifetime, active member of St. Francis de Sales/Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Delmar where he served in a variety of ways. Tony served on the parish council, as a trustee, eucharistic minister and was often referred to as the “unofficial bishop” of Holy Redeemer. He proudly earned his 4th Degree Knight as an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Tony had a special bond with all of his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and loved each of them as if they were his own children. He was active in local politics and served his community as a past police commissioner for Delmar, served on the Delmar Town Council and was voted Citizen of the Year several years ago. He had a heart for the needy and would help anyone who needed anything. Tony also loved to cook and he enjoyed feeding his family, church family, friends and all that worked the polls on election nights. He is survived by brothers, Joseph S. Triglia, Jr. and wife Barbara and Vincent A. Triglia; sisters, Rosemary T. Lynch and husband, George, Theresa T. Trader and husband, Donnie and Alisa J. Bloodsworth and husband, David, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Stephen Triglia, Tracey “India” Bandorick and husband, Bill, Debbie Holland, Dr. Sheliah Lynch and husband, Tom, Valerie Lynch, Marilyn Lynch Federowicz and husband, Ehren, George “GW” Lynch, IV and wife, Mary, Justin Lynch and wife, Heather, Matthew Trader and wife, Jenn, David Bloodsworth, Jr. and wife, Emily and Alison Bloodsworth; 15 great nieces and nephews; and his extended church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Angelo “Bebe” V. Trigila; sisters, Mary “Dolly” Melvin and Antoinette V. Hastings; and nephews, Joseph S. Triglia, III and Ronnie Hastings, Jr. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Bi-State Blvd at Chestnut St in Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. For everyone’s safety, the family has requested the wearing of masks or face coverings. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Delmar. A Reception honoring Tony will be immediately following the cemetery at "The Southern Belle," 31239 E Line Rd, Delmar, MD 21875. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Francis de Sales/Holy Redeemer, 535 Riverside Dr, Salisbury, MD 21801.
