Pamela Margaret Schertz

Surrounded by family, Pamela Margaret Schertz, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born on December 19, 1961 in Landover, Maryland to John and Margaret Thomas, she was one of seven children. Pam had a big personality, a huge heart filled with love for all, and a true spirit of adventure. She lived her life to the fullest extent, the way she wanted to, and never looked back. Pam always excelled- as a student she graduated from Onancock High School at 16 and went on to obtain an accounting degree from Salisbury University. Pam even maintained a 4.0 GPA while working and raising a family. She eventually became a CPA and a CFO of M&M Refrigeration. As an adventurer she loved traveling, cruising, fishing, boating and the beach. As a wife and mother, her two children were one of the best things of her life and she supported them to the fullest. But most of all Pam loved her family and nothing gave her more enjoyment than spending time with them. Pam also loved her countless furbabies over the years as well as and her 'framily'. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Thomas, her beloved son Jacob Schertz, her brothers John and Dan, her baby sister Valerie, and her nephew Jason Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Steve Schertz, her daughter Jessica Schertz, her brothers Stephen (Judie) and Paul (Linda), and her sister Janet (Vince). Her extended family includes an uncle, many nieces, nephews and cousins. A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The service will begin at 1 pm and there will be a gathering of family and friends immediately following the service. Private interment will be take place following cremation. The family would like to thank all of you who kept her spirits up, provided assistance, and showed your love when saying goodbye.
