Obituary

James Lee Goslee, age 67, of Galestown, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at his home. Born on April 7, 1958, in Seaford, Delaware, he lived a life dedicated to family, farming, and his passion for auto racing. He was the son of the late James Louis Goslee and Minta Mae Tingle Goslee. A proud graduate of Mardela High School, he received his diploma in 1976. At the young age of 16, James began his memorable journey in the world of auto racing, taking to the tracks as a driver of the #66 Jimmy Goslee car from 1974 until 1983. He spent countless weekends at both the Delmar International Speedway and the Georgetown Speedway, where he created lasting friendships and cherished memories. After graduating, Jimmy Lee, as he was fondly known by many, returned to the family farm in Galestown, where he dedicated his life to agriculture. Alongside his family, he worked tirelessly to raise chickens, watermelons, cantaloupes, and grain crops. The farm was a labor of love, and when his sons, Travis and Vince, grew old enough, he welcomed them to join him in the hard yet rewarding work of farming. Together, they operated the U-Pick Vegetable fields from 1984 to 2012, a venture that brought joy and community to many. Jimmy Lee was also a longtime director for the Laurel Auction Block and board member of the Mar-Del Watermelon Association. Jimmy Lee is survived by his devoted wife of almost 39 years, Patricia Louise Dickerson Goslee; his beloved sons, Travis Lee Goslee and wife Amy. and Vince Lee Goslee; and his cherished daughter, Amanda Lynn Goslee. and her boyfriend, Dan. He is also survived by a dedicated caregiver, Judy Mitchell; and his favorite dog, "Tig." His legacy will continue to live on through the lives of his family and the many people he touched throughout his lifetime. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Evans. A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Asbury Methodist Church on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM, following a visitation from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Reverend David Bennett will officiate. Friends, family, and all those whose lives were enriched by Jimmy Lee are invited to come together to celebrate his life and share their memories.
