Kathleen M. Ardis, 89, of Snow Hill, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at her home in Snow Hill, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 2, 1925 in Snow Hill, a daughter of the late John Stephen McRoberts and Evelyn Jackson McRoberts. Kathleen spent her whole life on a farm in Snow Hill and was a lifelong member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church and a member of the Worcester County Farm Bureau, Club 15. She was a wonderful homemaker who truly enjoyed raising her family and preparing meals, as she was an excellent cook. She is remembered for many things, especially her sweet potato pies and sweet potato biscuits. She was an active outdoor person even in her later days. She is survived by 3 children, Phyllis Ardis Lank and husband, Gale, Albert Northam Ardis, Jr and Steven J. Ardis, all of Snow Hill; 5 grandchildren, Katherine Ardis, Abby Ardis, Jennifer Reinhart, Jeffrey David Ardis and Rachel Sannito; 5 great grandchildren, Tara Bonnaville, Riley Reinhart, Sydney Reinhart, Silas Sannito and Genavieve Sannito; and a sister-in-law, Dot Dukes of Girdletree. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Northam Ardis, Sr., who passed in 1988, a son, David Wayne Ardis, who passed in 2010, a granddaughter, Gwynn Bonnaville, 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Barbara Didrickson. Services will be private at the request of Mrs. Ardis. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
