Informational Bulletin on Funerals and COVID-19
Short Funeral Home of Delmar, Delaware, remains committed and prepared to safely care for the families it serves during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whenever possible, our funeral home will continue to enable families to participate in the rituals that are most important to them. We assure you that the health and safety of our families and staff is at the forefront of what we do as a funeral home and family.
As a member of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), Short Funeral Home, the Crematory of Delmarva & our Pet Crematory regularly receives information via NFDA from the CDC, Department of Health & Human Services, and other agencies about the evolution of COVID-19 in the United States. NFDA continues to lead the conversation with federal officials about the role of funeral service as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the guidelines and are adhering to the strictest of these guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all our visitors. Information is rapidly changing regarding this virus and the precautions we need to take. As of March 1, 2020, we will be limiting all viewings to a maximum of fifty-five (55) attendees in our building at one time. This will be achieved by allowing one-in and one-out during the scheduled visitation times. For a funeral service within our facility we will be limited to maximum of fifty-five (55) attendees. Please know that this protocol has been dictated by federal and state guidelines.
We value our families and their trust in our
organization and are continuing to take all precautions to provide a safe and
clean environment during this state of emergency. We will continue to update our website as
changes occur and encourage you to check back frequently on services as they
are posted. If you have any questions,
