Obituary

KEMAH- John Franklin (Johnny) Lloyd, 59 years old, died at his home in Kemah, Texas on Friday, June 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with Cholangiocarcinoma. Born in Salisbury, MD on his mother's birthday May 20, 1953, he was the son of Betty A. (Baker) Lloyd and the late Richard E. Lloyd. Johnny graduated from Delmar High School Class of 1971 where he was senior class president. He left the Delmar area in the late 70's to work in Texas with friends and was employed the last 25 years in the cooling tower industry. Johnny was currently employed as a Superintendent for SPX at the Exxon facility in Baytown, Texas. He loved golfing, swimming, biking, yard sales, classic cars, going to the movies, watching western TV shows and spending time with family, grandchildren and friends. He is remembered for his quick wit and humor, always lending a helping hand to neighbors and those in need, being a great mentor to his workers, being a loving husband, son, brother, step-father and "PaPa Johnny". He was a member of the Clear Lake (Kemah) Elks Lodge #2322 and the Delmar VFW Post #8276 Men's Auxiliary. In addition to his mother, Betty, he is survived by his wife, Sharon Ladendorf Lloyd, Kemah, TX; sisters, Ann L. Street (Robert), Princess Anne, MD and Lisa Lloyd Ellis (Randy), Delmar, DE; a step-daughter, Katie Lauren Rupprath, Kemah, TX (Mike Hessler); a son, Myles Lloyd, Dickinson, TX; a daughter, Jenna Lloyd, Alvin, TX; grandchildren, Arianna Salcido and Dylan Hessler, Kemah, TX; a niece, Kelli Street, New York, NY; Father-in-law, Ret. Lt. Col. Chuck Ladendorf USAF, Lakeland, Florida; brothers-in-law, Ron Domel (Linda) Texas City, TX, Charles Domel (Kathy) Bacliff, TX, and Chip Ladendorf, Kemah, TX; and sisters-in-law, Carolyn Davis (Bill) Port Aransas, TX and Judy Ladendorf, Oklahoma City, OK. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers. In addition to his father, Richard E. Lloyd, who passed in 2003, he was predeceased by an aunt, Emaline Dennis, an uncle, Gene Lloyd, maternal grandparents – Jewell & John Baker, paternal grandparents – Hattie & Frank Vincent and Elsie Lloyd and a brother-in-law – Eric Ladendorf. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Stephens United Methodist Church Camelot Hall on Saturday, June 16 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to the Richard E. Lloyd Chair Lift Memorial Fund. Donations should be made payable to Adah Chapter #5 OES c/o Linda McCann, 1712 Upper Millstone Lane, Salisbury, MD 21801.
